Center Stage - Brad Puckett

Meet our newest featured artist, Brad Puckett - A rising star in the country/rock world whose passion and talent for music have landed him some incredible opportunities among some of Country music's greats.

We enjoyed listening to his
awesome music, and getting to know him a bit better in this Q&A feature.

Brad Puckett is an East Tennessee native, and proud of his heritage. Brad started out playing the local bar scene in the Tri-Cities Area and writing songs. After several bands and tries at music, he ventured to Nashville in 2011 where he had the good fortune to work with some of the best in the music business, such as  Hall of Fame songwriter Kim Williams, who penned hits  such as  "Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up" and "Three Wooden Crosses" to name a few. Brad learned the craft of songwriting from Kim Williams and his very talented daughter Amanda Williams who has written "Beer Run" for Garth Brooks and George Jones, and has a cut on Garth Brook's latest album entitled "She's Tired of Boys."

Brad worked with Kim and Amanda and producer Buddy Hyatt to co-write Brad's award winning debut album entitled "Brad Puckett", released in 2013 on Phoenix Records. Brad won several awards for this project such as the Nashville Independent Artist of The Year in 2014. This record included a top 100 Billboard charted single "At Least I'm Feeling Again" and a video that has been shown on CMT, GAC, and Zuus Country.

Brad went back to the studio working with producer Buddy Hyatt and has released his second national album entitled "Right Here Right Now". His first single "Kiss Me In The Rain" has already charted on the Music Row charts and is climbing up the Billboard charts as well. Brad's songwriting skills has lead to cuts by organizations like NASCAR in 2017. Brad is now working with O'Reilly Auto Parts and will be making appearances at NASCAR tracks around the country.

Brad has opened for some of the best acts in the country music genre such as, Garth Brooks, Dustin Lynch, Confederate Railroad, Joe Diffie, Craig Wayne Boyd, Marty Raybon, Larry Gatlin, and Black Stone Cherry.

Can you describe your sound in one ramble-on sentence?
I am a rocker at heart but love country music I try to bring both styles to my show, a mix of Garth Brooks, meets, 3 Doors Down!

What's your earliest music-related memory growing up?
Watching Michael perform Billie Jean, I was hooked!

If you were to cover another band/artist's album, which would you pick and why?
No Fences Garth Brooks, the whole album just is the story of my life

Do you write/compose your own songs? Briefly describe your songwriting process
I do write my own songs and I pick from songwriters. Nashville has an awesome songwriter community, I first like to develop the chorus and then I like to develop the story around it, I like to look at the song from different angles.

What was the highlight for you in 2017? Either personally or for your music career?
My highlight was that I was the headliner at the Country Radio Kickoff show in Nashville TN!

What have you been working on recently? Can you give us a hint for whats to come in 2018?
I have worked hard the last two years on a new album called Crossroads!,
I have a new single out to radio called Carry Your Memory and a follow up called I Quit Drinkin Two.

What do you like more: Performing live or recording in the studio?
Performing Live is my first love

What are some artists/bands that you're into at the moment? Or any particular song you find yourself listening to over and over?
I am into Luke Combs at the moment great writer and great style

Any embarrassing on stage moments you'd like to share? C’mon, don’t be shy.
Well, I played a video performance wiht my zipper down, nobody said anything till the video aired you gotta love it lol

What's one thing people should know about you?
I have played all over the country and I am a real artist. I try to bring that with my music!

What do you enjoy doing outside of music? Does your hobby rejuvenate your creativity?
I love to hunt and fish with my dad.

What do you like the most about Radio Airplay?
I love the fact that independent and new artists have a chance to be heard!
